Bela Bodo was the gifted child of a noted impressionist who worked with Renoir, Claude Monet, and Utrillo. At 15, he enrolled in the Budapest Academy, studying under the greatest artists of the time. Communist takeover became eminent, and his father was captured and sent to a Russian prison. Bela helped support his family by selling his paintings to soldiers for food. Escaping from the Communist regime on his third try after being captured twice, Bela studied and painted in Paris. He came to
the U.S. in 1957, making his home in California. Artistically multi-talented, he has also distinguished himself as an accomplished
musician and classical composer.

Bela Bodo, a renowned impressionist, very much enjoys painting scenes of San Francisco, Carmel, Lover's Point, Pebble Beach, Big Sur, Lake Tahoe, and Paris. Serious collectors of fine art from around the world collect his paintings, which have sold for as much as $50,000.00. One book lists him one page over from Picasso.
